Georgia L. Steelman Thomason

Georgia L. Steelman Thomason, 93, of Anniston, AL left her earthly home for her heavenly home Wednesday, November 2, 2016. She was born November 30, 1922. Before moving to Anniston, AL to be close to her daughter, she lived most of her life in Hampton, Arkansas. While in Hampton she worked alongside her husband in the courthouse while he served as sheriff of Calhoun County and later she was owner of a women's clothing store on Main Street in Hampton. However her most loved positions in life were wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Saks in Anniston, AL.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis Steelman and Hattie Jones Raney; husband, Kenneth (K.O.) Thomason; two sons, Howard Thomason and Ronnie Thomason; one daughter, Ann Thomason; and one brother, W.C. Farley. She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Coleman of Anniston, AL; six grandchildren, Nancy Thomason, Judy Turner, Jason Thomason, Justin Thomason (Christina Marie), Rhonda (Sean) Johnson, and Britt (Courtney) Coleman; sixteen great grandchildren, Abby Hand, Shelby Bailey, Dalton Turner, Jesse Turner, Dylan Thomason, Christin Thomason, Asia Thomason, Cal-El Thomason, Rogue Thomason, McKenzie Johnson, Maddox Johnson, Brooks Johnson, Cam Coleman, Carlie Coleman, Case Coleman, and Caroline Coleman; three great-great grandchildren, Kaden, Gammon, and Olivia; and many nieces, nephews, and friends; and her special fur baby, Casey. Georgia was well loved and will be missed dearly.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 12, 2016 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce, Arkansas with funeral services beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Mt.
