Georgia Carolyn Sheffield Peterson, 92, of Mt. Belvieu, TX died Friday October 30, 2009 at Triumph Healthcare in Baytown, TX. Born April 26, 1917 at Hope, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Ora Lee King Sheffield. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Tom Cottrell, Clancy Cornish, Tom Peterson; daughter, Helen Irene May; brother, John Sheffield; sister, Dora Fox; son-in-law, Merle Driskill. Survivors are one son, Tom Cottrell of Dayton, TX; two daughters, Carolyn Driskill of West Monroe, LA, Linda Andrews and husband, Louis of Mt. Belvieu, TX; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at New Hope Cemetery near Hampton with Junior Ainsworth officiating. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home of Hampton.
