George Ellen Stokes, 59, of Hampton died Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado, Arkansas. She was born December 26, 1949 in Diboll, TX. She was a retired secretary for Shelter Insurance in Hampton. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Edward Milford and Opal Helton Milford. She is survived by her husband, Larry Stokes of Hampton; daughter, Chanda Word of Holly Springs; step-son, Tim Stokes of Tacoma, WA; step-daughter, Michelle Blann and husband, Wade of Hampton; sister, Charlotte Day and husband Jerry of Little Rock; aunt, Lillian Magnia of Hampton; five grandchildren, Hunter and Carrington Word of Holly Springs, Zac Blann of Hampton, Jackson and Grace Stokes of Tacoma, WA. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to John R. Williamson Hospice House 2301 Champagnolle El Dorado, AR 71730. Visitation will be Wednesday 6pm until 8pm at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday at Campground Presbyterian Church in Hampton with Rev. Garland Skidmore officiating. Burial at Campground Cemetery.
