George Wilson Stewart

George Wilson Stewart, 93 of Fordyce, AR, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2009. He was born November 17, 1916 in Camden, Arkansas, the son of the late George W. and Julie E. Stewart. He was a US Navy World War II Veteran and retired from the Arkansas Power and Light Company after 34 years. George was a lifetime member of the Free Masons. He was a long time member of the Fordyce Lions Club and a member of the First Baptist Church of Fordyce.

He was preceded in death by his wife Norma J. Stewart; one infant son and one infant daughter, and his five siblings, Bob Stewart, Carl Stewart, Abner Ben (AB) Stewart, Roy Stewart, and Lorraine Cooper.

He is survived by one son Mike Stewart and wife Dena of Houston, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Mickey Stewart (Kelly) of Vilonia, AR, Kris Stewart (Delma) of Hope, AR; Allen Stewart (Allison) of Sherwood, AR, Lisa Gann of Sherwood, AR,& five great grandchildren, Lauren, Jake, Presley, Brittany & Sarah.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Lakeside Cemetery in East Camden, with the Rev. Stacy Reed officiating. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6 PM until 8 PM at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. To sign the online register visit www.bentonfuneralhome.com .
