George Franklin Gorman, Sr. was promoted to his Heavenly reward with his loving family by his side in his home in Hampton, Arkansas on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the age of 87. He was the beloved husband of Lea Spell Gorman for 64 years and father of Barry Franklin Gorman (Barbara Glosson Gorman), George Franklin Gorman, Jr., and Gary Dwayne Gorman (Deanna Cherry Gorman). George was born in Hampton, AR on September 11, 1938. His parents, Marvin and Dorothy Gorman and his brothers, Marvin Gorman and Terry Gorman preceded him in death. He is survived by his siblings, Joe Gorman (Ella), Wanda Williams (Jody), Dottie Smith (Rickey) and two sisters-in-law, Virginia Gorman and Shirley Gorman. George was affectionately known as Nandad by his grandchildren, Krissy Raney (Ray), Nick Vaughan (Kelley), RJ Gorman, Ayden Gorman, Andru Gorman, Kevyn Gorman, Alyssa Gorman, Elizabeth Gorman, Zachary Gorman, Drew Gorman (Michaela), Dawson Gorman (Collette) and one great-grandson, Ethan Raney (Harley).
George was a faithful member and Deacon of The Victory Church in Camden, Arkansas for over 30 years. His walk with the Lord was paramount in his life, and George freely shared his faith with others making lasting impact on many lives still today.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at The Victory Church, 1283 US-278 W, Camden, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 12pm-2pm with a service to follow. Internment at Moore's Chapel Cemetery in Hampton, Arkansas will immediately follow the service.
