Genevieve Rose Ashkanipour, daughter of Jack and Inez Langley, age 69, of Houston, Texas, passed away Sunday May 14, 2017. She was born July 24, 1947 in Troy, North Carolina. She was currently enrolled at WGU, and recently acquired her Master's degree in nursing. She had a passion for the Fine Arts and Drama, and was known in her younger years as a Dolly Parton look-like. Genevieve was known for her big heart. She was a good friend, and wonderful daughter and sister, an amazing wife, and a compassionate mother and grandmother. Genevieve was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Katy, Texas. Her faith has been a source of her strength especially these last few years as she fought and overcome several bouts of cancer. She considered her life overflowing with Jehovah's blessings and relied upon her deep faith to carry her through.
Preceding in death, her father Jack Langley and brother Clark Langley. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Ahmad Ashkanipour; and her three children, Antonio Hogue, Angela Mantle, and Billy Hogue. She is also survived by her mother Inez Langley, and her siblings; Jimmy Langley, Mark Langley, Joey Langley, Danny Langley, Elaine Hazzletine, Janice Attwood, and Jackie Langley. She also has 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, and had recently learned she would be welcoming one more great grandson to her family.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 19th from 6pm to 8pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce, Arkansas. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11am at the Benton Funeral Home, burial is to follow at Stoney Point Cemetery near Fordyce. Arrangements made by Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce.
