Frances Pleasant Amis Wages, 95, of Shelbyville, TN went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 29, 2015. Born on March 10, 1920, she was the daughter of Willie F. and Mary Rebecca (Launius) Amis, who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Luther I. Wages; son Richard A. Wages and an infant son; sisters, Altha Williams and Luevinia Holloway; brothers, J. C. Amis and Bernis Amis.
She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Hunter of Picayune, MS, Vyrene (Wayne) Crowder of Shelbyville, TN; daughter-in-law, Emily Wages of Tyler, TX; sister, Josephine Manning of El Dorado, AR; grandson, Rev. Daniel (Rachel) Hunter of Mansfield, TX; three granddaughters, Dana (Mike) Henderson of Orlando, FL, Angela (Aaron) Menchaca of Spring, TX, Carla Ayala of League City, TX; step-grandson, Marcus Crowder of Picayune, MS; great-granddaughters, Emily Mills, Makenzie Menchaca, Meagan Menchaca, Kathryn Henderson, Ashley Ayala, Avery Hunter, and Jordyn Hunter; great-grandsons; Jonathan Henderson, Nathan Henderson, and Wyatt Ayala; step great-grandson, Michael Crowder, and many nieces and nephews.
Frances had a passion and love for her Lord, family, and church.
She loved working with the Youth in the church and her home was always open to them.
She had a wit about her that people enjoyed and loved being around her up until the Lord took her home to be with HIM.
Visitation will be Saturday September 5, 2015 from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at Sparkman First Assembly of God Church. Funeral services are Saturday September 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Sparkman First Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow at Sparkman Cemetery.
