Evie Lou Johnson

Evie Lou Brewer Johnson, 93, of Bearden died Sunday, February 23, 2014 at South Arkansas Medical Center in El Dorado. She was born February 26, 1920 in New Boston, TX. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, student and teacher of the bible. She was also member of the Bearden Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Brewer and Esther Dodd Brewer; and husband of 62 years, Jessie Cleo Johnson; three brothers, James E. Brewer, Troy L. Brewer and Arthur L. Brewer. She is survived by three sons, Jessie Johnson of Toone, TN, Clarence (Amelia) Johnson of Bearden, Kenneth (Regina) Johnson of Moulton, AL; one daughter, Bonnie (Bakri) Marashi of El Dorado; one brother, Clifton Brewer of Hickory Valley, TN; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday at Benton Funeral Home with Kenneth Johnson and Hamdoun Marashi officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery near Hampton.
