Etta Dean Bryant, 78, of Kingsland, AR and Nacogdoches, TX went to be with the Lord in the early hours of May 17, 2010 at Garrison Nursing Home in Garrison, TX.
Born April 6, 1932 in Kingsland, Arkansas to the late Watt Bryant and Virgie Kea Bryant, she was an avid Bible reader and faithfully attended both Fordyce and Kingsland Assembly of God Churches. She greatly cherished her family, and was a compassionate friend and neighbor, who let Christ's love show with her gentle words and kindness. She enjoyed gardening, genealogy, and cross words puzzles.
She is survived by her only child Karen Jennings of Nacogdoches, TX; granddaughter Melanie O'Dell of Garrison, TX; grandson Christopher Jennings of McKinney, TX; two great-grandsons: Casey and Bryant O'Dell; great-granddaughter Virgie Grace O'Dell; three sisters: Betty Livingston of West Columbia, TX; Carolyn Keegan of Upper Marlboro, MD; and Frances Welsh of Newburg, MD.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Doyle Bryant and Thomas Bryant; and two sisters: Sarah Willis and Patricia Trammell Carpenter.
Services will be held Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Fordyce, Arkansas at Benton Funeral Home with Rev. Lewis Langley officiating. Visitation will take place from 1-2 p.m. before the funeral and a graveside service will directly follow at Smith-Morgan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Jennings, Russell O'Dell, Christopher Jennings; honorary pallbearer will be Casey O'Dell.
