Elsie Mollie Gilbert Oliver, 91 of Hampton, died Tuesday, December 8, 2015. She was born March 7, 1924 in Calhoun County to the late Thomas Jefferson Gilbert and Ola Ellen "Tiny" Littles Gilbert. She was a housewife and the oldest living member of Union Grove Assembly of God Church.
She was also preceded in death by her husband James Floyd Oliver, her granddaughter Dianne Jacks, one brother and five sisters.
She is survived by five children: James Edward Noble of Louisiana, Jackie Lee Vaughan of Carthage, Texas, Richard Daniel of Warren, Sarah Jacks of Carthage, Texas, and Jannie Duncan of Hampton; nine grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6PM until 8PM at Union Grove Assembly of God Church near Hampton. Funeral services will be 2PM Friday at the church with burial following in Union Grove Cemetery. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce/Hampton.
