Ellis Coleman

Ellis Coleman, 86 of Hampton died Sunday December 23, 2012 at his home. Born December 30, 1925 in Calhoun County, he was a son of the late George and Cora Gorman Coleman. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He retired after 45 years with International Paper Co. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Elmer Coleman, Carl Coleman, and James Coleman; three sisters, Lillian Thompson, Climmie Cook, and Dolly Coleman.

He is survived by his wife, Glenna Ables Coleman, who he married on June 16, 1951; three children, Wannetta Morton (Tommy) of Cabot, Stephen Ellis Coleman (Beverly) of Bauxite, Connie LaDuke (Donnie) of Hampton; six grandchildren, Michelle Ward of Columbia, LA, Shondra Atkins of Grayson, LA, Stephen Lee Coleman of Benton, Sgt. Wendy Sulfridge of Ft. Hood, TX, Alex Morton of Cabot, Ashley Morton of Cabot; six step grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; sister, Nell Hampton of El Dorado; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be 2 PM Thursday at Happy Home Assembly of God Church in Hampton with Rev.
