Elizabeth Ann Jones, 80, of Hampton, AR, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 16, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on May 17, 1942, to the late Ray and Zadie Avant Nettles.
Elizabeth was an active member of Antioch Baptist Church and was retired from the Hampton Schools. She worked 18 years at Town and Country and DMA Apparel.
A lifelong resident of Hampton, she was the kindest-hearted soul, and was always excited and eager to give her time for her church and her community.
If you happened to stop by for dinner, there was always an extra plate and chair ready at the dinner table. An Angel in the kitchen with her heavenly pies, teacakes, candies at Christmas, and her famous coconut cake. One of her favorite times of the year was gardening season, and she took so much pride sharing, canning, baking and entering her items in the fair each year.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 48 years, Arthur N. “Sam” Jones; sisters, Carolyn Welsh and Linda Grace; brother, Charles Nettles.
She is survived by her daughters Becky (L J) Hearne of Arlington, TX and Janice (Charlie) Fife of El Dorado; one son, Clay (Anna) Jones of Hampton, AR; grandsons, Tyler Hearne, Jesse Jones and Sammy (Kelcy) Avant; granddaughters, Leigh (Bradley) Garner and Kati Jones; great grandsons, Austin Garner, Tucker Garner, Connor Wood; one great granddaughter, Journey Jones; lifelong best friend, Carolyn Wylie.

Visitation will be June 17, 2022 Friday 6:00 PM until 8:00 pm at Antioch Baptist Church near Hampton. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm June18, 2022 at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Nutt officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Hampton. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
