Earl F. Johnston

Rev. Earl F. Johnston, 80, of Harrell died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at his home. He was born September 23, 1932 in Lake Village, Arkansas. He retired from teaching after 30 years in the classroom in 1994 and just recently retired from pastoring with 51 years in the ministry. He also served in the Army as a Corporal during Korea. While serving in Korea he received a Letter of Commendation for his brave acts as a Military Policeman. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Lee Johnston and Maude Ora Madera Johnston; and one sister, Audra Lee Word. He is survived by his wife, Christine Floy Gilbert Johnston of Harrell; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Elizabeth Johnston of Harrell, Steven and Susan Johnston of Harrell; one sister, Eugenia Dennis of Harrell; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Union Grove Assembly of God Church with Rev. Beauford Rash and Rev.
