Dorthay Mae Gay

Dorthay Mae Twilla Gay, 90 of Camden formerly of Magnolia died Friday, February 1, 2019 at Ouachita Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Camden, Arkansas. She was born April 13, 1928 in Memphis, TN. She was a retired Health Care Administrator of Magnolia Manor in Magnolia, Arkansas. She and her husband, James were missionaries to Africa and ministers for many years. They were also Foster parents for several children. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Elemuel Twilla and Annie Pearl Vowell Twilla; husband of fifty nine years, James Louis Gay, Sr.; two brothers, Lonnie and William Twilla; six sisters, Zella Adams, Zula McManey, Katherine Riley, Athryn Lamont, Trudell Martin, and Patricia Joyce. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James Louis and Rose Gay, Jr. of Houston, TX, one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Stephen McWhorter of Camden; one sister, Fay Gorgone of Cleveland, OH; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday 12:00 noon until 1:30 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Bearden. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Thursday at Moss Hill Cemetery in Bearden with Brother Lee Denton, Brother Wayne Payne, Brother Dwayne Scribner, and Brother Stephen McWhorter officiating.
