Dorothy C. Gill

Dorothy C. Gill, 83, of Kingsland, died Monday September 29, 2008 at her home. She was born in Kingsland, AR on June 10, 1925 to the late R.O. & Helen Herrington Granderson. Mrs. Gill was a Christian and a homemaker.

She is survived by her son, Bubba Gill of Kingsland, AR; three daughters, Debbie Mills & her husband David of Monticello, AR, Darla Russell & her husband Tim of Kingsland, AR, DeAnna Upp & her husband Jim of Kingsland, AR; two brothers, Jim Granderson of New Edinburg, AR, Roy Gene Granderson of Rison, AR; six grandchildren, Amber Hornaday & her husband Kevin of Kingsland,AR, Adam Mills of Monticello, AR, April Turner & her husband Brent of Kingsland, AR, Lance Hamilton & his wife Laura of Kingsland, AR, Mitchell Hamilton of Kingsland, AR, Abbie Childress of Kingsland, AR; four great grandchildren, Aubrey & Ansley Hornaday of Kingsland, AR, Allie & Eli Turner of Kingsland, AR, & her caregiver, Lois Avery. Mrs. Gill was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Gill, her step-mother, Florence Granderson, four brothers, Otis, Bert, Jack, & Troy Granderson, & a sister, Onie Huntley.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery near Fordyce, with the Rev. B.L. Blann & Rev. Jimmy Albrecht officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Fordyce. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
