Dorothy Sue "Dot" Erwin

Dorothy Sue "Dot" Erwin of Thornton died Monday March 6, 2017 at St. John's Place in Fordyce. Born October 14, 1922 at Thornton, she was a daughter of the late Fell Harper and Mae Turner Harper. She was a retired telephone operator and a member of the Thornton United Methodist Church for over 80 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard Erwin; three sisters, Alma Harper Whitley, Marie Harper Cox, Vera Harper. She is survived by her son, Charlie Erwin (Dee) of Thornton; niece, Carolyn Brandon of Thornton; nephews, Larry Whitley (Sherry) of Fordyce, Paul "Dick" Whitley (Barbara) of Thornton; two grandchildren, Jeffery Lewis (Ashley) of North Little Rock, Kristy Lewis of Bauxite; great-grandchild Charley Allen Olds of Camden; and a host of great-nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Stoney Point Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Thornton United Methodist Church or Gideons International. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
