Dorothy Kirkpatrick Allred

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Kirkpatrick Allred on October 31, 2024, at the age of 93.
Dorothy was born September 7, 1931, in Woodbury, Arkansas, to Johnny A. and Willow Dean Kirkpatrick. She had one brother, Henry A. Kirkpatrick.
Dorothy worked for many years as a nurse. She took great pride in caring for her patients and provided support and encouragement to their family members. She worked until she was 80 years old. She retired from Sweet Home Residential Center In El Dorado, Arkansas.
Dorothy was a loving mother and a super fun grandmother. She was affectionately known to her grandchildren as "Mammaw Arkansas". In her younger years, she was a very talented seamstress sewing for her children and grandchildren. She was kind, thoughtful, funny, and a good friend to many people.
Dorothy always loved to have a good time and appreciated a good laugh. She enjoyed dancing four to five nights a week in El Dorado and surrounding communities.

Kirkpatrick and Willow Dean Kirkpatrick and her brother Henry A. Kirkpatrick.
Survived by: Daughters Betty Bright McCool (Larry) Southaven, Mississippi; Nancy Bright Williams, Alexandria, Louisiana; and Jimmie Bright Hardy, Indianola, Mississippi; eight grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be under the direction of Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce Arkansas. Her final resting place will be at New Hope Cemetery in Woodbury, Arkansas. To sign the online register visit www.bentonfuneralhome.net .
