Doris Majorie Fleming

April 26, 1931 — November 13, 2019

Doris Majorie Fleming, 88 of Sparkman, died Wednesday, November 13, 2019. She was born April 26, 1931 in Sparkman to the late Noah and Kate Hopper Beasley. She was also preceded in death by her husband Ernest Fleming, four sisters: Ann Berryhill, Virginia Meeks, Dean Simpson, and Catherin Crawford; and her son-in-law Gerald Totty. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sparkman, Arkansas. She loved to cook, loved nature, and her friends in nature that visited her often, her fox, the deer, her birds and often even turkey would venture into her back yard. She enjoyed her flowers, but most of all she loved her Lord, her family, and friends. She battled severe lung-breathing problems for many years. She battled and never gave up as long as her frail body would allow. She trusted God for all her needs and He never failed her. She was an excellent example for all of us, our original “Spunky” lady.
She is survived by her son Ernie Fleming of Fordyce; four daughters: Linda (Chuck) Sherwood of Little Rock, Edith “Edie” Totty of Fordyce, Rhonda (Rick) Holderfield of Woodlawn, Jane (Dan) Faucett of Benton; eight grandchildren: Todd Farnham of Shanghai, China, Wade Totty of Camden, Clay Totty of Rison, Wendy Clay of Fordyce, Eric Fleming of Fordyce, Jessica Byrd of Arkadelphia, Leah Garner of Benton, Adam Faucett of Little Rock; 14 great grandchildren and a special daughter Nancy Cranford of Fordyce.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6PM until 8PM at the Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce. Funeral services are 11AM Friday at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wade Totty and Rev. James Guthrie officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Sparkman First Baptist Church, the American Lung Association, Gideons International, or the Chapel Hill Cemetery Association, c/o Brenda Garrett, 147 Dallas 263, Sparkman, AR 71763.
