Daniel "Danny" Smith

Daniel “Danny” Smith, 68, of Mayflower, formerly of Thornton passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019 peacefully with his wife at his side after a lengthy illness. Mr. Smith was retired from Windstream and once served in the Arkansas National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Johnnie Jones Smith; his maternal grandparents Alexander and Nora Jones; his paternal grandparents Junius and Juddie Smith; and one brother David Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Brenda (Cathey) Smith; a son Kevin (Maricela) Smith of Mayflower; a daughter Renae (Adrian) Moore of Thornton; and a very special grandson Kaden Alexander Smith of Mayflower. He also left behind his three cats; Ziggy, Simon, and Gracie that he had rescued.
There will be a visitation Friday, April 26 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. A graveside memorial will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Tanyard Cemetery.
