Clydie I. Carter Thornton, 89, of Hampton died Thursday April 12, 2018 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas at El Dorado. Born November 2, 1928 in Bradley County, she was a daughter of the late Alvin Carter and Joline Erwin Carter. She was a member of Victory Church in Camden and was retired from Hampton Schools where she was the cafeteria manager.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, H.F. Thornton; her daughters, Diana Lynn Chamberlain and Carol Cranford; her granddaughters, Lisa Williams and Heather Cranford Herring, and eight siblings.
She is survived by her son, Roy Thornton and his wife, Roe Ann of Gravette; two sisters, Gladys Pinson of Magnolia and Everine Neely of Village, AR; five grandchildren, Crystal Thornton Davis, Josh Thornton and his wife, Kristi, Chris England and his wife, Amanda, Lindsey England, Lori Stinnett and her husband, Steve; twelve great-grandchildren, Madeline Means, Kayleigh Means, Easton Parker, Aislin England, Isla Reynolds, Kailey King, Caleb Thornton, Caiden Thornton, Carmen Williams, Courtney Williams, Hailey Wilson, Kara Miller.
The Family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Victory Church in Camden with Rev. Jerry Ables officiating. Burial will follow at Campground Cemetery in Hampton. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Hampton/Fordyce.
