Clarence Allen Madera

January 9, 1952 — August 5, 2023

Clarence Allen Madera, a devoted family man and lifelong resident of Hampton, Arkansas, passed away on August 5, 2023, at the age of 71. He departed at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas, surrounded by his beloved family.

Born on January 9, 1952, in Bastrop, Louisiana, Clarence was the son of Harry and Thelma (Cottrell) Madera. After graduating from Hampton High School, he proudly served in the Army National Guard. On November 26, 1971, he married the love of his life, Mary (Furr) Madera, and their bond remained unbreakable. Clarence's roots ran deep in Hampton, where he spent his entire life.

An ardent outdoorsman, Clarence embraced a career that allowed him to connect with nature daily. He dedicated over four decades to his timber logging business, providing for his family and embodying an unwavering work ethic. Retirement didn't stop him; he transitioned to the construction industry, maintaining his active spirit until his final moments.

When not hard at work, Clarence found solace fishing and walking among pine trees with his squirrel dog. Yet, his greatest joy lay in the company of his family. He was a fixture in the lives of his grandchildren, imparting his love for family, fishing, and hunting to the next generation.

A devout Christian, Clarence's faith was integral to his identity. He frequently shared scripture and could often be found napping with gospel music playing softly nearby. A proud member of the First Assembly of God in Hampton, AR, he nurtured his relationship with Christ.

Clarence's proudest roles were those of a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished papaw. He is survived by his wife, Mary Madera, and their children: Stephanie (Kenny Long) Madera of Hampton, AR; Mandy Madera of Jonesboro, AR; and Mark and (Deanna) Madera of Bixby, OK. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Dillon (Tia) Floss, Chloe (Curt) Clowers, Lily Floss, Ryder Madera, Mary Kate Madera, all of Hampton, AR; Gannon (Alyssa Doucet) Ivy of Bedias, TX; Courtney (Zane Fitch) Madera of Owasso, OK; Briggs Madera of Bixby, OK; and Cash Carter of Jonesboro, AR. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren Avery Clark, Vivian Floss, and Josie Clowers, all of Hampton, AR. He is also survived by his brother, Walter Madera, and numerous extended family members and friends.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Thelma, and his brother, Jerry Madera.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on August 7, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 PM at the First Assembly of God in Hampton, Arkansas.
