Clarence Wayne Johnson, Sr. age 71 of Bearden died Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden, Arkansas. He was born August 13, 1953 in Memphis, TN. He retired from Great Lakes Chemical in El Dorado, having worked there for 42 years. He never met a stranger; he loved Westerns (all John Wayne), Gunsmoke especially. He loved learning new things and was always sharing trivia. He had an extraordinary sense of duty. He was a good man who cared deeply about people, even those he had just met. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Cleo Johnson and Evie Lou Brewer Johnson; one son, Wayne Johnson; one sister, Bonnie Marashi; and one brother, Jesse Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Amelia Murray Johnson of Bearden; one son, David (Vanessa) Johnson of Searcy; one daughter, Angela Johnson of Bearden; one bonus daughter, Kellie Mike) Anderson of Bearden; one brother, Kenneth (Gina) Johnson of Moulton, AL; three grandchildren, Valeria, Arantza, Joseph; six nephews, Hamdoun, Kerim, Kenny, Brandon, Nick and Chase; several great nieces and nephews; and several close cousins that he loved dearly.
Visitation will be Tuesday 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at New Hope Cemetery near Hampton with Brother Kenneth Johnson officiating. To sign the online register visit
