Christine Floy Gilbert Johnston

Christine Floy Gilbert Johnston, 82, of Harrell died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at her home. She was born July 16, 1931 in Harrell, Arkansas. She was a retried aide for Hampton Public School and a member of Union Grove Assembly of God Church. Christine was an avid gardener and she had a great love for animals especially her dog, Missy. She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Gilbert and Beatrice Mulligan Gilbert; husband, Rev. Earl F. Johnston; one brother, Thomas Gilbert and one nephew, Keith Gilbert. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Beth Johnson of Harrell, Steven and Susan Johnston of Harrell; four grandchildren, Shane Johnston and wife Melissa of Monroe, LA, Ashley Taylor and husband Josh of Monroe, LA, Kenny Johnston and wife Natalie of Hampton, Andy Johnston and wife Debbie of Fordyce; nine great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Jimmie Nell Gilbert of Harrell; one brother-in-law, Hughlin Word of Russellville; and a host of nieces, nephews, and church family. Visitation will be Friday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday at Union Grove Assembly of God Church near Harrell with Rev. Beauford Rash and Rev. Benji McCann officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce/Hampton.
