Charles B. Newton, 82, of Hampton died Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado. He was born June 28, 1931 in Camden, Arkansas. He was a retired school teacher and a Navy veteran serving in Korea. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard Augustus "Pete" Newton and Gladys Mattie Henderson Newton; wife, Loraine Kooy Newton; one brother, Bobby Joe Newton; one great grandchild, Mya Green, and one nephew Sean Newton.
He is survived by two daughters, Sandra Lynn Newton Green of Smackover and Sharon Kay Newton Burnett (Mike) of Canyon, TX; one brother, Homer Newton (Betty) of El Dorado; one sister, Hattie Marie Newton Duncan (Harold) of Hampton; six grandchildren, Christopher Green (Amber), Pamela Green, Stephanie Green, Rebekah McKnight (James), and Hannah Green all of Smackover, and Tyler Burnett of Stillwater, OK; seven great grandchildren, Lanee, Chasten, Leila, Camille, Kaylee, James, and Jaymie Green.
Visitation will be Thursday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday at Victory Baptist Church in Hampton with Rev. Robbie Duncan officiating.
