Charles Laverne Hopkins, 75, of Mabelvale, Arkansas died Saturday, December 25, 2010 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born February 9, 1935 in Thornton, Arkansas. He was a retired truck driver. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Vinnia Sullivent Hopkins and siblings, Alton Hopkins, Elvin Hopkins, Gladys Sanders, Bernice Skaggs and Bruce Hopkins. He leaves behind a son, Charles Hopkins and wife Kim of Fordyce; a daughter, Veronica Casey and husband Ray of Mabelvale; two grandchildren, Brad Zakrzewski and wife Heather of Conway, and Kasey Hopkins of Bearden; a sister, Jeanette Garner of Fordyce; sister-in-law, June Hopkins of Bearden; step-grandchildren, Justin Duff, Kristin Morris and husband Wayne, Kimberly Patton and husband Brian, Katey Casey; and his beloved cats, Freckles, Baby, Tiger, Diamond Jack and Patches. Visitation will be Monday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Bearden. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday at Bethel Cemetery in Bearden with Rev. B.L. Blann officiating.
