Cathy J. Smith, 60, of Kingsland, died Friday November 18, 2011 at the Dallas County Medical Center. Mrs. Smith was born in Leslie, AR on November 2, 1951, to the late Archie & Rosa Mallick Connett. She was employed by the Fordyce Police Department as a Dispatcher.

She is survived by her husband Dean Smith of Kingsland, AR; a son Floyd Smothers & his wife Nancy of New Edinburg, AR; a daughter, Trina Watts & her husband Kenny of Kingsland, AR; a step daughter, Deana Rogers & her husband Stacy of Illnois; two brothers, Curtis Connett of Star City, AR, James Connett of Rison, AR; two sisters, Jewell Neal of Oklahoma, Elsie Connett of Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Thomas Smothers & his wife of Lorraina of Kingsland, AR, Kendale Watts of Kingsland, AR, Colton Watts of Kingsland, AR, A.J. Erwin of Waldo, AR, Tiffany Erwin of Waldo, AR; a special niece, Sonya Smith Edington of Waldo, AR; five step grandchildren, & three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Connett.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday November 21, 2011 at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Kingsland Cemetery, with the Rev. Shane Mathews officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Sunday evening at the funeral home in Fordyce. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
