It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Gail Robinson who died on September 15, 2024 at Dallas County Medical Center. Born on February 7, 1946 in Fordyce, Arkansas, Brenda lived a full and meaningful life, cherished by family and friends alike.
Brenda was a devoted and loving wife to Rex for 59 years. Brenda retired from Fordyce Public Schools where she worked in various positions within the district. She was one of the oldest, faithful members of Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Cooterneck, Arkansas where she volunteered in many aspects of the church throughout her lifetime. She had a passion for cooking, her flowers, crafts, sewing, needlepoint, and painting all of which she pursued with great enthusiasm and dedication. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren and most recently her great grand girls! She never missed an activity that any of them participated in. She took great joy in watching them play and interact with one another. They were her greatest joy in the last years of her life.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents Calvin W. House and Ola Mae Wells House.
She is survived by her husband, Rex, her two children, David (Karen) of Monticello, Mark (Gwen) of Monticello, four grandchildren, Andrew Robinson (Makayla) of Arkadelphia, Lauren Robinson Pruitt (Ethan) of Springdale, Hayden Robinson (Grace Ann) of Monticello, Addison Robinson of Monticello, and three great granddaughters with one great grandson on the way–Stevie Rhea Robinson, Eleanor Leslie Pruitt, and Sutton Jane Robinson. She is survived by one sister Ginger Brown of Fordyce, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Benton Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 17 from 5-8 pm. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 10 am at Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Smith and Rev. Nick Flowers officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Zion Missionary Baptist Church Memorial Fund in Brenda’s memory.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Fordyce Fire Department, Dallas County Sheriff' office, Elite Home Health, neighbors and family who assisted her while she was at home. Thank you to the friends and family who transported Brenda back and forth to doctors’ appointments in Little Rock. The family could not have done it without you. The family would also like to thank Dallas County Medical Center, Dr. Lindsey Walley and Jenna Bryant for taking excellent care of her during her duration at the hospital.
Brenda, lovingly referred to as Granny, will be remembered for her love of the Lord, love of her grands, and her excellent meals she prepared for all occasions.
