Bobby Doyle Mcclain

January 2, 1966 — November 29, 2023

Bobby Doyle McClain was taken home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. Bobby was born on January 2, 1966 to the late Lawrence McClain and Vivian Hall. His early years were spent around the West Helena area, but after the death of his beloved father he moved to England, Arkansas, where he completed his teenage years, graduating from England High School in 1985. He attended the University of Conway for a while but left school to begin working.

Bobby was primarily in the grocery store business before later owning a Flowers bread route. Bobby loved anything outdoors, but especially fishing. He loved the Razorbacks. Anyone who knew Bobby found out what a huge and compassionate heart he had. He loved a good joke and was constantly on the lookout for an opening to cause mischief.

Primarily, Bobby loved the Lord and his greatest wish was that everyone he knew would accept salvation so he could be sure to see them again in Heaven. Bobby was a member of Temple Baptist Church and would personally invite you to sit with him if you wanted to come to church. Secondly, Bobby was a family man and showed his family constantly how much he cared for them.

Bobby was preceded in death by his much loved father, Lawrence McClain, his grandparents both paternal and maternal; his sister in law, Melinda McClain; and his sweet little great nephew, Jameson Martin.

Bobby is survived by his beloved wife, Penny. Their time together wasn't as long as they had hoped, but their love is true, precious and continuing. Their daughters, Katie Marlar (Jeff) and Sydney Retford of Fordyce; their son, Gunner Retford of North Little Rock; their two precious grandsons, Wyatt and Parker Hudson of Fordvce; his mother and step father, Vivian and Don Hall of England; his brothers, Larry McClain (Donna) of Oklahoma, Lynn Russell (Beth) and Chris McClain of England; his sister, Lois Sibley (Gary) of Colorado; his sister in love, Kelly Aplin (Kenny) of Holly Springs; his cherished nieces, Cassie Martin (Dillon) of England, Gidget Cissell (Aaron) of Oklahoma and Dawn Hicks of Holly Springs; his treasured nephews, Matthew Russell (Ashley), of Prairie Grove, Hunter Russell (Miranda), of Cabot, Christopher McClain (Danielle) of England, Kevin Sibley (Haven) of Colorado, Dave McClain (Charity) and Greg McClain both of Oklahoma and Derrick Aplin of Bearden.

He is further survived by a host of great nieces and nephews whom he loved as well as cousins who he adored. He also had a very special place in his heart for his aunt, Jane Russell; and his special friends, Rita and Randy Atchison, Doug and Rhonda Pettit, and Jean Morgan. He is remembered by too many to mention friends that he considered family.
