Billie J. "Short" Johnson

Billie J. "Short" Johnson, 83 of Fordyce died Monday December 12, 2016 at her home. Born August 5, 1933 at Tinsman, she was a daughter of the late Arnold Earnest and Audrey Turner Earnest. She was a retired telephone operator. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Jewel Sindle, a brother, Robert Earnest. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Johnson of Fordyce; her daughter, Karen Wiscaver of Kingsland; a step-son, Jimmy Johnson, Jr. of Grosse Tete, LA; three step-daughters, Paula Landrineau of Lafayette, LA, Teresa Robison of Lafayette, LA, and Carla Montez of Sherwood; two sisters, Juanita Miller of Tinsman, Maxine Henderson of Memphis, TN; a grandchild, Jana Thompson; six step-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Wilmar Cemetery.
