Betty Jo Rowland, 84, of Hampton, died Friday August 13, 2010 in the Springdale Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Calhoun County on May 21, 1926 to the late Joe Riley & Nellie I. Stringfellow. Mrs. Rowland was a retired office manager for Avant Gravel Company, & a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.
She is survived by her two sons, Craig Rowland & his wife Patricia of Rogers, AR, John R. Rowland & his wife Denise of Little Rock, AR; a brother, Gene Stringfellow of Hampton, AR; two sisters, Holla mae Moore of Little Rock, AR, Janice McGough of Calion, AR; two grandchildren, Craig Allen Rowland JR. of Oceanside, CA, Erin Rowland of Little Rock, AR. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Rodney Rowland, two brothers, Ben & Grady Stringfellow, & two sisters, Irma Brecht, & Clovis Gustafson.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday August 16, 2010 at the Antioch Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pickett Cemetery, with the Rev. Mike Nutt, & Rev. Sam Shepperson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home in Hampton. In Lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be sent to the Antioch Baptist Church, P.O. 726, Hampton, AR 71744. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
