Betty R. Matthews, age 92 of Carthage died Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was born May 8, 1932 in Ames, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harley A. Mason and Ardell Wysong Mason; and four brothers. Betty is survived by her husband, Phil Matthews of Carthage; three sons, Mike (Donna) McFarland of Russellville, James (Teresa) Allen of Camden, Larry (Jeri) Allen of Benton; one step-son, Ben (Donna) Matthews of Mount Vernon, WA; one step-daughter, Kay (Jack) Dailey of Virginia Beach, VA; three sisters, Shirley Mason of Ringwood, OK, Harlene Johnson of Hideaway, TX, Mary Woodward of Shawnee, OK; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
