Betty Coleman Bradley Nutt, 89 of Fordyce, died Friday July 26th, 2019 in Fordyce. She was born February 19, 1930 in Ramsey, Arkansas to the late James R. Coleman and Bonnie Epps Hillman. She was preceded in death by husband Bill J. Bryant, father of Sherry Bryant ( Bobby) Pennington of Holly Springs, Carolyn Bryant (Travis) Bradley of Carthage, Texas , William Andrew (Becky) Bryant of Sheridan, Rebecca Bryant (Don) Isley of Sequim, Washington, and Virginia Bryant (Noel) Griffin of Port St. Lucie, Florida. She was preceded in death by husband William Davis Bradley, Jr., father of Raymond Rawls (Cheryl) Bradley. She was also preceded in death by husband Niven Nutt, and her sister Nancy Hillman Spakes.
Survivors include sisters Carolyn Coleman Wall of Rison, and Lou Hillman Bedell of Hot Springs;
Grandchildren Bart Pennington, Tony (Lorie ) Pennington, Kellie (Ron) Kethan, Drew Bryant, Mary Kathryn Judkins, Alex (Holly) Bryant, Jennifer (Ernie) Barrett, J.B. Hamilton, Jason (Kristen) Hamilton, Elizabeth Bradley, Noah (Samantha) Bradley; great grandchildren Kayla (Clay) Doherty, Harlee Pennington, Rain Pennington, James (Moriah) Thomas, Ashley Kethan, Joshua (Shana) Kethan, Carly (Joe) Walsh, Carter Judkins, Harleigh Threlkeld, Beau Bryant, Ryan Hammack, Karli Hammack, Amaya Hamilton, Selma Hamilton, Evan Bradley, Elin Bradley, and Memphis Bradley; great great grandchildren Cami Doherty, Kimber Doherty, Greyson Kethan, Betty Walsh, Calvin Walsh, and Aylah Thomas.
Betty was civic and community minded. She knew the local history and enjoyed volunteering at the Dallas County Museum. She also helped man the phones for the AETN fundraisers. Working on the landscape at the Dallas County Courthouse was a part of her community work as a Master Gardener. Betty’s love of ceramics inspired her to open a ceramic shop, where she taught ceramic classes. Betty served as a board member of the Arkansas State Employees Association and Arkansas Selective Service Draft Board. She ran the Employment Security Office in Fordyce, and later became a field auditor. When the Arkansas State Employees Association began their employee of the month program, Betty was the first to receive the award. Prosperity Baptist Church is where you would find her on Sunday mornings, where she was a long time member.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 10th, at 10 AM at Prosperity Baptist Church in Ramsey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church. Mailing address is 18170 Hwy 79, Kingsland, AR 71652.
