Betty Sharlene Barton

Betty Sharlene Little Barton passed away peacefully on August 5, 2024. She was born November 6, 1935 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Jesse D. Little and Evelyn Ferguson Little. Sharlene graduated from Strong High School. She was the valedictorian of her class. She attended Ouachita Baptist University for two years and graduated from the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
She married James Larry Barton of Fordyce in 1955. They had four children.
Sharlene was an accomplished pianist and organist. Music was her passion. She enjoyed going to New York City to attend musical theatre.
She especially enjoyed traveling to Europe and around the United States.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Evelyn Little, her stepmother Birdie Lee Carter Little and son Joe Davis Barton. She is survived by her husband Larry Barton, son Jim Barton (Juli), son John Barton, and daughter Betty Bennett (Dennis), two grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. A family only memorial service will be held at a future date.
