Benny Ray Jones, 76, of Thornton died Sunday, July 13, 2008 at Hospice In Patient Home Care in Little Rock. Born April 17, 1932 in Calhoun County, he was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Lottie Lavonia Pugh Jones. He was a machinist and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Tressie R. Jones of Thornton; two daughters, Robin D. Jones of San Jose, CA, Shawn R. Janisch of Hollister, CA; two brothers, Glenn Jones of Fordyce, Herbert Jones of Thornton; two sisters, Carolyn Manning of Thornton, Myrlene Donahue of Dallas, TX; three grandsons, Daniel and Todd Janisch of Hollister, CA, and Benjamin Chrimes of San Jose, CA.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andrew Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Thornton First United Methodist Church or to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
