Arthur N. Jones

Arthur N. "Sam" Jones, 69, of Hampton, died Saturday June 28, 2008. Mr. Jones was born in Hampton, AR on July 22, 1938 to the late Alfred & Beatrice Reddin Jones. He was a Baptist, & retired as the Calhoun County Judge after 10 years of service.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 48 years, Elizabeth Jones of Hampton, AR; a son Clay Jones & his wife Anna of Hampton, AR; two daughters, Becky Hearne of Arlington, TX, Janice Avant & her husband Lane of Hampton, AR; a sister, Rena Arnold of Hot Springs, AR; four grandchildren, Tyler Hearne, Kati Jones, Jesse Jones, Sammy Avant; & several nieces & nephews. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by four brothers, & three sisters.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday June 30, 2008 at the Antioch Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, with the Rev. Mike Nutt officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 pm Sunday evening at the funeral home in Hampton. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
