Arnold Castleberry

October 11, 1922 — March 27, 2009

Arnold Castleberry, 86, of Bearden passed away Friday March 27, 2009 at Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden. He was born October 11, 1922 to Odom Castleberry and Bonnie Arnold Castleberry.

Arnold proudly served in the Air Force during World War II. He was a devoted member of White Oak Assembly of God Church in Bearden and loved singing in the choir, especially when his grandchildren would visit & participate with him. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and spent many hours in retirement enjoying the time that he was blessed with. His favorite saying was "I'm hittin' it in the face" which was his response whenever asked how he was doing. He was a loving father and grandfather and his family is very thankful to have been blessed with him, his humor and his devotion to all of them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Orland Castleberry and Paul Castleberry, three sisters, Mary Nell Castleberry Mosley, Pauline Castleberry and Mildred Castleberry, and one son, Bobby Castleberry.

Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Castleberry Warrick and husband Bobby of Camden, two sons, Donnie Castleberry and wife Judi of Camden and Arnold Smith and wife Lugenia of Ripley, TN, five grandchildren, Amanda Castleberry Bryant (Wesley) of Pampa, Texas, Shane Warrick (Amy) of Magnolia, Bethany Castleberry Rutledge (Adam) of Fayetteville, Caleb Castleberry (Jenna) of Monticello, Daniel Castleberry of Camden and two great grandchildren, Brenna and Haydn Warrick of Magnolia. He is also survived by two brothers, Raymond Castleberry of Bearden and Doyle Castleberry of Fordyce and two sisters, Katie Lou Castleberry McDonald of Bearden and Ozella Castleberry Corley of Sheridan.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, March 30, 2009 at White Oak Assembly of God Church in Bearden with Rev. Damon Launius and Rev. JO Belin officiating. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery in Bearden. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Sunday evening at the Benton Funeral Home in Bearden.
