Arlene S. Sanders

Arlene Short Sanders, 90, of Fordyce, Arkansas died Friday, June 27, 2008 at Valley Oaks Nursing Home in Camden, Arkansas. She was born April 23, 1918 in Emerson, Arkansas and was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church. Also, for fourteen years she and her husband managed the Mad Butcher Grocery Store in Fordyce. She was preceded in death by her parents, Corbin and Addie Dumas Short and her husband, James Lee Sanders; four sisters, Mattie Griffin, Sybil Bailey, Etoile Dunn and Allie Kilpatrick; one brother, Alton Elvis Short. She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Lee Kinley of Fordyce; grandson, John Wayne Kinley and wife, Diane of Camden; two great-grandsons, Brandon Vint and wife, Dana, Lane Kinley, two great-great-grandchildren, Kinley Grace Vent and Joel Dannon Vent all of Camden, several nieces nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce with Rev. Larry McDaniel and Rev. Nathan Petty officiating. Burial at Oakland Cemetery.
