Archer Wayburn Huneycutt, 86, of West Monroe, LA died Saturday, March 24, 2018 at his home. He was born July 5, 1931 in Sparkman, Arkansas. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Ph.D and created the Louisiana Survey Center at LA Tech University, which was one only one of its kind at that time. He was also a Korean War veteran as a member of the U.S. Air Force. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lemial Jason Huneycutt and Tessie Wood Huneycutt; two brothers, Adrian Huneycutt and Newt Huneycutt; and one sister, Manie Watson. He is survived by his wife of sixty four years, Mary Janette Shockley Huneycutt of West Monroe, LA; two sons, John (Leela) Huneycutt of West Monroe, LA, Frank Huneycutt of Grand Prairie, TX; two brothers, Jim Huneycutt and Hadley Huneycutt both of Yantis, TX; one sister, Darlene Wilson of Quitman, TX; three grandchildren, Gennie Huneycutt, Jason Huneycutt, and Benjamin Huneycutt all of West Monroe, LA; and two great grandchildren, Sid Huneycutt and Kaylee Martinez both of West Monroe, LA. Visitation will be Tuesday 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church in Dalark. Funeral services are 2:00 pm Tuesday at Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church.
