Ansel Dixon Corder, Jr, age 73 of Bearden Arkansas died Friday March 3, 2017. He was born in Fort Smith Arkansas on December 8, 1943. Ansel held several occupations throughout his lifetime. He never wanted to regret not having taken part of an opportunity that came his way to do something at least once. His endeavors included, sprinkler fitter, truck driver, chicken and cattle farmer, entrepreneur and most of all husband, father, and Pappy. He was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. He enjoyed his time on the golf course and race track.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.D. and Olga Corder and one sister, Carolyn Allen.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen Corder of Bearden; two daughters, Missy (Donis) Smead of Leola; Marlene (Scott) Mosley of Bearden; six grandchildren, Cathrine (Clint) Phillips, Lora Mosley, Kreg (Cassie) Smead, Travis (Kylee) Mosley, Katelyn Smead and Curt Smead; one brother, Stephen (Trish) Corder of Lynn; one sister, Marilyn Junyor of Greenbrier; one nephew who was like a son, Jim Johnson of Fordyce and several nieces and nephews that he treasured.
Visitation will be Sunday 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Bearden. Memorial services will be 11:00 am Monday at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Brother David Dillard officiating.
