Annie Rae Colvert

December 16, 1916 — November 13, 2010

Annie Rae Paulman Colvert, of Thornton, daughter of Oscar Eldon Paulman and Jewel King Paulman, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2010 in Little Rock, Arkansas, where she was a resident of Valley Ranch Rebah and Nursing. Mrs. Colvert was 93 years old.
Annie Rae was born on December 18, 1916, in Calhoun County where she graduated from Thornton School. It was in this community that she met her husband of 58 years, the late Lundy Bass Colvert. She was a lifelong member of Harmony Baptist Church, Thornton, Arkansas, where she served as church clerk for over 47 years. She served as children and adult Sunday school teacher for years and also filled other roles in the church. She was an active member of the community and loved to serve and help others.
Ms. Anne, as she was called by her friends, was well known for her generous hospitality, her wonderful pies, cakes, home canned vegetables and beautiful quilts. Her beautiful spirit made all who knew her a better person. Serving her church, helping her neighbor, and caring for her family were her greatest joys in life.
Later in life she moved to Conway where she enjoyed living near the many children who attended a neighboring childcare center. The children all called her "grandma" as she greeted them daily with a warm smile and wave.
She was preceded in death by many friends, her parents, her husband, and her brothers, John Boyce, Flanoy, Francis, and T.W. Paulman. She is survived by her son, Lundy Ray Colvert and wife Lynda Colvert of Pangburn, AR; her daughter, Frances Jewel Black and her husband Steve Black of Little Rock; four grandchildren, Lisa Jenkins of Conway; Dr. Lundy Wade Colvert of St. Louis, MO; Christopher Black and wife Kristy of Little Rock; and Cindy Thompson and husband Tom Thompson of Visalia, CA. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Mitchell Jenkins, Drake Jenkins, Tristan Jenkins, Anna Black and Jewelia Black.
