Alice May Earnest Laws, 90, of Tinsman, died Saturday May 23, 2009. Mrs. Laws was born in Calhoun County on August 18, 1918 to the late Ammon Demetris "Met" & Cora Evelene Earnest. She was a homemaker & a member of the Tinsman First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her two sons, Raymond D. Laws & his wife Martha, Earl Junior Laws & his wife Mickey; three daughters, Martha L. Strickland, Louise Gee & her husband Horace, Cathy Grice & her husband Paul; 22 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, & 7 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Laws was preceded in death by her husband, Eulion Earl Laws, a brother, William "Spudge" Earnest, two sisters, Mamie Lee Hutcheson, Nellie Jane Earnest, her children, Larry Gerald Laws, an infant son, Milber Jean Laws, Ira Lucille Laws, & a granddaughter, Beverly Kay Laws.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday May 25, 2009 at the Tinsman First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Earnest Cemetery, with the Rev. Homer Williams & Rev. Buddy Burton officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Sunday evening at the funeral home in Hampton. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
