Minny Jo “Jo” Rogers shook off her faulty mortal coil on the morning of August 12, 2022. She has now joyfully reunited with her father (Raymond Clements), mother (Maxine Clements), and brother (Leon Clements), as well as many other beloved family members and friends who have gone on before.
Jo was born on Valentine's Day, 1948 in Fordyce, Arkansas. She was raised in Kingsland and grew to be a proud Lady Greyhound basketball player and Valedictorian of her 1965 graduating class after having turned 17 a mere three months before commencement.
Jo worked for Production Credit Association (an agriculture lender) and eventually became its first female branch manager. She left PCA and went to work for Delta Farm Service as an agent, then ultimately purchased the business, renaming it Delta Farm Insurance, where she remained until her retirement.
Minny Jo leaves behind her only child, Jason Rogers (Heather), and two grandsons, Jacob and Clay. She also bids a temporary goodbye to her best friend / “Uber-driving” / advice-giving older sister Barbara Anne Eeckhoudt, several beloved nieces and nephews, and a countless number of friends whom she thought of as extended family.
Though known for her outgoing personality, perseverance, strength, and warrior spirit, as well as the love she held for her church and pastor, Jo might best be known for “The Laugh”. No matter the time or circumstance, Jo could take over a room with the most genuine, joyous, heartfelt, and LOUD laugh ever!
Memorial services will be held at Salem Missionary Baptist Church (Pine Bluff) on Saturday, August 20 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to McCoy Cemetery P.O. Box 4 New Edinburg, AR 71660.
Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce.
