Bobbie Jean Jones

June 8, 1930 - March 18, 2022

Our Mom- Queen Jean, full of spunk and quite sassy, down to earth and yet classy. Her heart was full of love. Now she’s looking over us from above. Love you Mom! An extraordinary person, Bobbie Jean Jones passed away peacefully March 18, 2022. She was a family matriarch, a beloved relative and friend to so many. Jean was born June 8, 1930 in Kingsland, Arkansas. She met and married the love of her life, Roy Jones, and celebrated 60 years of marriage before he went to Heaven in 2005. Jean Jones was a true ‘Southern Belle’, who shared her love for incredible food which was always made from scratch. She would cook like she was preparing food for an army. No matter where Roy and Jean were stationed, it did not take long for the word to be out of the amazing, Southern Cook. Her life was a living example of serving others. She was a devout member of Fordyce First Baptist Church, and served in various social organizations associated with good work for others. Jean is now having a special reunion in Heaven with her husband Roy, her son Don Jones, her granddaughter, Kim Jones, her great grandson, Dominic Jones, and many of her relatives and friends who she loved very much. She has two daughters, Linda Benson, Debora J. Kilgore, and a bonus daughter, Lisa Jones. She was very blessed to be a grandmother of 9 and great grandmother of 26 wonderful souls. Jean dedicated her life to supporting her husband’s commitment to the US Army, moving every 3 years prior to retiring in Fordyce, Arkansas. Their dream was to move back to where they were both raised and purchase ‘Flowers Grocery’ which was renamed, ‘Jones Grocery ‘ in 1969. They lived proudly to be ‘back home’ and were passionate for their community they served. At the age of 80, after winning the State Bowling Association Tournament, Jean then went on to win the National Bowling Association Tournament in Reno, Nevada. She loved competition and knew if she did her best she would always be a winner. Please join us to celebrate her life Monday, March 28, 2022 at Kingsland Cemetery. Her celebration of life will commence at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce. To sign the online register visit www.bentonfuneralhome.net.
