Lois Massey Marshall, age 91 of Fordyce, went to heaven on July 14th, 2013. She was born on Oct. 22, 1921 to the late John and Mattie ( Strong) Massey in the Bleeker Community near Carthage, AR. She was a graduate of Fordyce High School. She worked as a telephone operator in Fordyce. She met the love of her life, Clifton " Buddy" Marshall in 1937 and married him in 1943. They were married 70 years on May 15th. She lived in Phoenix, AZ for 25 years and returned to Dallas County. She worked for the Fordyce Restaurant 26 years.
She is survived by her husband, Clifton, of Fordyce. She had 6 children. Ginger ( Barry) Draper of Phoenix, AZ, Mattie ( John) Abraham of Starkville, MS, the late Paul Marshall, Loy Marshall of Phoenix, AZ, Martha (Rob) Worley of Conway, AR, and the late Mary Marshall. She had 10 grandchildren, Wendy Jenkins and Karen Draper of Phoenix, AZ, Aaron Sink and Carrie (Alex) Beneke of Starkville, MS, Eleasah (Brent) McNabb of Greenbrier, AR, Anna (Mark) Legg of Quaker Hill CT, Phillip Worley of Carolton, TX, Rebekah and Abby Worley of Conway, and Mariah Marshall of New Jersey. She had 10 great-grandchildren.
She had 2 sisters, the late Francis ( Gerald ) Parham and Joyce ( Dick) Bright of Prescott, AR. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Jacquie Marshall of Fordyce and a sister-in-law, Arlene Keeling of Union City, TN. She had 12 nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 19th from 6-8 pm and her funeral on Saturday, July 20th at 9am at the Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce, AR. Burial will be at Hampton Springs Cemetery near Carthage, AR. Memorials may be made to the Gideon's or Hampton Springs Cemetery. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
